Location: Shawford Down top car park. If travelling north through Otterbourne, continue through the village. The car park is immediately on the right after Shepherds Lane (signposted to Compton Down). Please ignore the postcode for the final part of the journey as it will take you into a housing estate.

A varied walk across open farmland and downland; through woodlands and with significant sections along the River Itchen. Great views from the higher points along the way as well as in the river valley. There are 5 stiles on this walk. Some are quite high but all are stable. The walk ends with a short, sharp climb at Shawford Down. Please bring a picnic lunch.
